Across the alley

D O U A R I A
Contemporary soul. Ancient bones.
In traditional Moroccan architecture, a douaria is a secondary dwelling, an annex built to house extended family, guests, or the next generation. It shares the same derb, the same neighborhood rhythms, but offers its own entrance, its own quiet.
Our douaria sits directly across the alley from the main riad. Built in the 1920s as an extension of the original house, it fell into disrepair before we restored it with contemporary sensibilities: clean lines, abundant natural light, modern bathrooms, while preserving the handcrafted tadelakt walls and zellige tilework that anchor it to place.
Guests of The douaria enjoy full access to the main house: breakfast in the courtyard, afternoon tea on the rooftop terrace, the garden fountain's quiet music. But when you want solitude, your own front door awaits just steps away.

BEYOND THE WALLS
These are places that share something with this house — a quality of quiet, a way of holding guests, a frequency that's hard to name but easy to feel. If you've rested well here, you'll rest well there.
