Deep in the Sahara, far from the crowds that gather at the desert's edge, there is a camp run by people who have guided guests through this landscape for generations. Their grandfathers led camel caravans on the salt routes. They now lead guests to an understanding of the desert's particular magic.
The camp sits where the silence is complete. No generators, no artificial lights to dim the stars. You arrive by camel at sunset, that golden hour when the dunes seem to glow from within.
Dinner is a feast, tagine cooked over fire, bread baked in sand, mint tea poured from height. After the meal, drums appear. The music has been played in these dunes for centuries.
Then: sleep. In tents handwoven by nomadic families. On beds that are genuinely comfortable. Under skies so clear you'll see the Milky Way's dust lanes with naked eyes.
Dawn comes early in the desert. The sunrise is not to be missed. Breakfast, then the return journey. You'll come back changed in ways that take time to understand.
